Terms

Terms of Use

The ground rules for using Proof, in plain language.

Last updated July 12, 2026

Agreement

By creating a Proof account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 to use Proof, and confirm you have the legal capacity to agree to these terms. If you are using Proof on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind it to these terms.

What Proof is

Proof is a workspace for directing an agent and verifying its changes, with a record of what you decided. It is not a substitute for professional advice. Decisions you make based on what Proof or its AI features produce are yours.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself and your contact email accurate. One account per person. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has gotten in.

Your content

You own everything you create in Proof. We claim no rights to it. To run the service, you grant us a narrow license to store your content, display it back to you, and share it with collaborators you invite. We do not use your content to train AI models.

AI usage

When you bring your own AI key, we never see your prompts or responses. The provider's terms apply to that traffic. AI output can be wrong; review it before you act on it.

Acceptable use

Don't use Proof to:

  • Do anything illegal, or help anyone else do so.
  • Harass, threaten, or harm anyone.
  • Scrape the service or bypass rate limits and technical controls.
  • Train a competing model on our service.
  • Upload content that infringes someone's rights.

Billing

  • Subscriptions are billed at the price shown on the Pricing page.
  • Unused monthly allowance does not roll over. Unspent credit top-ups are refundable within 30 days of purchase if you cancel.
  • Bring-your-own-key remains free on every tier.

Termination

You can close your account at any time from Settings. We can suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, and we will give notice when reasonable. Data deletion follows the Privacy Policy.

Liability

Proof is provided as-is, without warranties. To the extent allowed by law, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms will be resolved in the courts of Canada.

Changes

If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top. For material changes we will email account holders. If you keep using Proof after the change, you accept the new version.
